Watch Video on Adding Fractions - Math Help
Access full lesson containing this video at: http://www.yourteacher.com/algebra1/addingfractions.php Students learn to add or subtract fractions using the least common denominator, which is the least common multiple for the denominators of the fractions. Once the fractions are given a common denominator by multiplying the numerator and denominator of each fraction by the appropriate number, then the fractions can be added or subtracted by adding or subtracting the numerators, and leaving the denominator the same.

Make it into these …
Make it into these first:
u’ll get 77 / 18 - 35 / 16
Denominator = 18 x 16 = 288
Draw a line frm 77 to 16 & from 18 to 35
You will get (77×16 = 1232) & (18×35 = 630)
PLus both = 1862 / 288
Make it mixed number = 6 134/288
simplified it lol

this way is too …
this way is too long
LCM is only for adding fraction more than 2
for this case, just 6×5 for denominator
then put a “X” sign across from 1 to 5, and from 6 to 4.
Then multiply (1×5) and (6×4)
its (5+24) / 30
i hope anyone understand what im talking about here lol !!

Dear Dr. Math,
You’re light hearted approach to math detremetend me. You re-introduced mathematics in such a way that i had to almost re-learn them. I wish i could hire Ben Stein to d0 the voice over, he had a much more interesting voice.
