What is the fraction if the denominator is 4 times the numerator?

By adding to the numerator and subtracting from the denominator the value of 3 the fraction becomes 1/3.

Numerator—n:
(n + 3)/(4n - 3) = 1/3
4n - 3 = 3n + 9
n = 12

Denominator:
= 4(12)
= 48

Answer: 12/48 is the fraction.
