This is a video I made… it is a simple Maths solution I learned back in technical college when I was studying for my diploma. To multiply any two numbers without using a calculator all you need is simple Arithmatic and Chinese Multiplication!
If you don’t get it just follow the steps in the video… you can use a calculator to check your results….
Simple… ….and Enlightening

My sister is in 4th grade and she’s been trying to learn multiplication for a while now. I’ve tried teaching her with repitition, online games, etc. Are there any good strategies to help her remember the answers to tougher problems?
You can show her the trick with a number multiplied by nine. Ex. 4×9 is 36. If you put your hands out and put down your fourthfinger, you have three in one hand and six in the other which makes 36. Just teach her with fun tricks and she will know them in no time!
I’m giving my son timed multiplication tests (up to 12’s). He can do them, but isn’t fluent yet. How fast should he be expected to do them (X number in a minute or 100 questions in X minutes). Thanks!
According to the web site www.multiplication.com, they should be able to complete 40 problems in three minutes. The website offers tips to help in teaching multiplication. It is very helpful. I hope you find all the information you need there!

I’m in the 8th grade now and im still not good at multiplication i know what your thinking you should know it by know but..ive have tried diffrenet things and i just won’t click any thing i can do to learn them before school starts?
They make "flash cards" to help memorize them up through 12 X 12. You can get them at education supply stores or on line. It’s boring but if you do it enough, it works. Good luck!! ; )
