Why do I get a gold star next to a worksheet tab in Excel?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

It seems like it has to do with inserting a worksheet.

That’s just an icon to show that if you click on it, it will insert a new worksheet. They use icons and symbols like that for buttons so it’s smaller because it would be too long to write out "Click here to insert a new worksheet" on a button.

What branch of mathematics has no relation with geometry?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Hey guys. I am choosing my thesis subject, and i’m looking for something with no relation with geometry. I don’t like geometry.

Try modern algebra…there is not much in it…like Lie Groups or Group Theory…..my question is How can you write a topic on mathematics without geometry? I suggest that you bone up on that subject before you write your thesis….just a friendly suggestion.

(this one is just basic solving)
1/4(4p+8)=12 (1/4 is a fraction)

(these 2 are sloving for the given variable)
y=5x=4; y

ax=b; x

Hi, Answer for the first probelm:
There are many way you can solve these, since well you said its a basic solving.

1/4(4p+8)=12
you can start by dividing by for,

which means it is: (1/4(4p)+1/4(8))=12;
then it is : 4p/4+8/4=12
p+2=12
p=12-2
p=10;

or try this:
1/4(4p+8)=12
we muliply 12 by the reciprocal of 1/4 which is 4/1 which is 4

then we say:
4p+8=12*4
4p+8=48
4(p+2)=48 took out the common factor
the miltiply by reciprocal of 4 which is 1/4
then its p+2=48*1/4
p+2=48/4
p+2=12
p=12-2
p=10;

for the second problem, i dont understand what you are trying to say
y=5x=4; y
y equals 5x which is equals to 4 and we solve for y?

remember if we solve for y, then the answer is 5x or the answer is 4, which means:
y=4, so there is no need for solving y cos we have it solved for us, if you made a mistake feel free to post again, i or we can help you. Remember we are here to help each other.
Hope this helps.

Do I have to change the decimals to make them a whole number?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

lets say the system of equation is:
y= 0.5 + 1
y= -0.25 + 1

Do I have to change the decimals from the slope-intercept form into a whole number when graphing?

you could change the decimals into fractions to see the ‘rise’ over ‘run’

What items in addition to cost may be added to the acquisition of the following plant assets land, machinery a?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

What items in addition to cost may be added to the acquisition of the following plant assets: land, machinery and equipment, and buildings? In your opinion, what accounting challenges might these pose?

you may also add closing cost, improvments such as clearing and I’m pretty sure you can add professional fees as well. the biggest problem (as I can remember) was what you make your journal entry. (is it costs or exspense)

What are the common fractions that are taken from a fractional distillation column that produces crude oil?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Can someone tell me the common fractions that are taken out of a distillating column, at what temperature they are removed and a little bit about them (eg. its uses, molecular formula.)

Big reward for big answer :)

Thanks in advance!

A fractional distillation column does not produce crude oil, it uses it as a raw material. The fractions that are removed will depend on the type of crude used, they are all different mixes. Typical output will include petrol, naphtha, diesel, paraffin.

The required temperature can be varied by using pressure or vacuum in the column so there will be a range for each output depending on internal pressure.

What is the work of option (across worksheets) in Microsoft Excel 2003?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

There is an option in the edit menu by the name of "Fill" and under that another option you can see its name is "Across worksheets" can someone plz tell me what does that option work?

First, "tutoring" is a troll sending people to web sites that load trojans. Don’t click the link.

To answer your question, that feature is so that you can copy something to all of your sheets at one time. Example: if you have a formula on sheet 1 that you will also use on Sheets 2 thru 100 (or whatever number of sheets you have) then rather than type the formula over on multiple sheets, you can use this feature.

Example:
On sheet 1, cell a1, i put a formula that says =b1+b2 and I want to put that formula on all the sheets. So hold your shift key down then take your mouse and click on the last sheet (let’s say you have 3 sheets so click on sheet 3 while holding the shift key down). This selects all sheets into a group. Now click in the cell a1 (the one we’re trying to copy), right click select copy, now click the fill/across worksheets, select all, and there you go it copies that to all sheets.
